About the speaker: Leroy Dedmon preached his first sermon over 50 years ago. He filled appointments for congregations in North Alabama after moving to Huntsville in 1959 to work at Redstone Arsenal as a Design Draftsman. He began local work in February 1960 at Gurley, Alabama. He has conducted daily radio programs in Manchester, McMinnville, Springfield, TN, and in Georgia. He has appeared as a guest on several TV programs, mostly on Search the Scriptures in Bowling Green, KY. He has conducted over 400 Gospel Meetings in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi and Indiana. He has held many meetings in Coffee County and has been a regular at Beech Grove.
He is also an entertainer for special meetings with his humor. "Preecher Alfalfa Hayseed" has become a popular hit with his "after dinner speeches". He left local preaching in 2004 and joined the staff of Preaching the Gospel. When PTG and the Gospel Broadcast Network merged their operations in January of 2008, he assumed the responsibility of Operations Manager. GBN is a cooperative work of many churches of Christ which provides religious programming through TV and the internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Beech Grove preacher, Kenneth L. Thomas
